I understand that the BrenTune is indeed a performance flash and not a piggy-back power enhancer like a Power Commander (which has limited benefits). That would top up the power to match a European model. The North American ECU needs to be re-flashed with a different fuel/ignition map (typically an OEM "rest of the world" tune) just to remove the high RPM power restrictions we're stuck with here. I'm not a an expert in the field but this is what I've learned after researching and acquiring a number of flash tunes on a dozen cars and motorcycles over the last 20 years (mostly cars).Įverything that you've described is an ECU flash just to varying degrees or using different equipment. I’ve been considering getting the BrenTune flash on my Gen 6, but I hear lots of people say they are waiting for Woolich. I’m hoping someone can help me with a basic explanation of the process of getting an ECU flash and tune.
